International PUARL Symposium Fall 2009 on “Current Challenges for Patterns, Pattern Languages and Sustainability”

A three-day symposium hosted by the Portland Urban Architecture Research Lab (PUARL), on the topic of patterns and pattern languages, and dedicated to the authors of “A Pattern Language”. The areas of interest addressed were the Origins of Patterns and Pattern Languages, the Current Challenges and the Horizons for Patterns and Pattern Languages. Three from the six authors of the book, namely Sara Ishikawa, Murray Silverstein and Max Jacobson attended the conference and gave speeches.
