Building Process Area of Emphasis: Building Construction – Elementary Construction Experience / Advanced Construction Experience
Fall 1989The emphasis on the class was on the understanding of real techniques in wood, concrete, steel, plastics and other material. Students were expected to learn the inseparable nature of construction and design, and to gain the appreciation of the way that design must follow from practical knowledge of construction, and from the feeling for the construction process. Emphasis was on construction innovation and the relationship of Architect to Builder.
In advanced construction experience courses students were to take part in real construction projects, and gain experience in management of actual design and construction jobs.
