Building Process Area of Emphasis: Housing Patterns for Different Cultures
Spring 1994The scope of the course was to identify housing patterns for specific cultures, considering its cultural, social, climatic, technical, and economic forces, examining past and present forms, and testing these forms in example designs. The first five weeks were spent in studying the culture, its past and present forms of housing, and the current problems in housing. The next five weeks were spent in formulating patterns for housing and neighborhood design within today’s context, and developing designs for a small cluster of houses. .
