Grass Roots Housing

Spring 1973

The class worked as a group seeking solutions to the most fundamental problems which contribute to the housing shortage, in many countries. The proposal covered financing schemes, design, social structure, principles of ownership, and rate of growth; in addition it put forward a process in which the owner is intimately involved in the evolutionary design and construction of his own house.
