人間都市, A Human City
1970“A Human City”, bilingual book, both in Japanese and English, includes the material which first appeared as an exhibit in the Theme Pavilion at the Osaka World’s Fair “Progress and Harmony for Mankind”, in 1970. The book concentrates on ten qualities a human city must have; these qualities are conveyed through illustrations and text. The collection of illustrations expresses the main ideas, which when put together form a city with an overall human feeling. Each illustration presents in a sketch form one of the early patterns, as they were being formulated in the late 1960’s and 1970s in the Center for Environmental Structure.
