01/05/1986Eight sketches by Christopher Alexander and Artemis Anninou regarding the site layout and design process, which show a simulation of eight layout consecutive steps to be performed on the actual site, for completing the form of a street with its side streets and localized centers by performing the volumetric shaping of a small group of houses at each step.

- 1st step - Fixing corners of building volumes
- 2nd step - Continue fixing more corners of building volumes
- 3rd step - Continue the same activity bearing in mind the corners of building volumes shape streets, paths & squares adjacent to them
- 4th step - Start to fill-in the gaps between the corner volumes, contributing to the formation of streets & public open spaces
- 5th step - Extend the emerging street by repeating previous steps
- 6th step - Complete the shape of the extended street by working on empty lots
- 7th step - Completion of the shape of one street by placing house volumes
- 8th step - Continuation of the same process for shaping cross streets
