Eishin Campus – High School: College Buildings structural design of flat ceiling beams in large classrooms, within the aperiodic structural grid of the building

1985
Construction System, Reinforced Concrete
The ceiling designed with massive concrete crossbeams at first to cope with the wide span, and a horizontal mat of wide and flat beams in close spacing, acting as a horizontal moment-resisting diaphragm, provides resistence to horizontal forces caused by eartquakes. Stepped corbels connect the two systems of beams.
