Construction Experiment & Mock-up, Construction Process

Four views of a full scale test tiled wall panel, the size and shape of an exterior wall segment with a window opening. They depict the first stage of its prefabrication procedure, during which tiles are laid out in relation to the openings and the column edges; a major decision to be made was the distance of the tile from opening and wall edges. 4,000 tiles were painted and fired in the C.E.S. Martinez workshop. Finally the prefabrication of the tiled wall panels was not selected as the best way to proceed.
